Young Athletes Shine in Local Junior Series Competition

Athletes from Langaville Athletics Club participated in the Junior Series Competition at Germiston’s Hillman Stadium on Saturday, showcasing their talents. In this event, the club’s 25 runners, ranging from six to 13 years old, displayed their skills. Kubayi Tisani, a 13-year-old, stood out by winning the 200m race in the first heat and securing third place in the finals. Tisani also triumphed in the 100m race during the initial heat and finished sixth in the finals. Banele Ngawala, aged 12, competed in the 1,200m race and secured a commendable fourth place. Minenhle Kgaphola, an 11-year-old, displayed an impressive performance, securing second place in the 80m race. Langaville Athletics Club’s team coach, Sakkie Kgapola, commended the runners for their remarkable efforts during the competition.

The club is gearing up for the Central Gauteng Athletic competition on November 18 in Germiston. The club is appealing for donations to support the development of these talented athletes, cover transport costs, and provide catering during competitions. This assistance will be crucial in nurturing these young athletes and enabling them to compete at their best.
