Malema’s Controversial Remark: ‘Kill the Boer’ – ‘Why Must I Educate Elon Musk, He Looks Like an Illiterate’

Julius Malema has hit back at Elon Musk

Julius Malema has hit back at Elon Musk, branding him an “illiterate.” The exchange of words between the two prominent figures stems from a debate over a controversial anti-apartheid song. Malema faces accusations of inciting ethnic violence by leading chants of “kill the Boer, the farmer” at a recent rally.

The “Kill the Boer” song has been an issue due to its violent lyrics. Elon Musk criticised Malema and accused him of pushing for “genocide” against white people. Musk questioned President Cyril Ramaphosa about his silence on the matter.

Malema dismissed Musk’s comments, stating that he had no intention of educating the billionaire entrepreneur. He brushed off the issue and referred to a court appearance where the song’s legality had been discussed. Malema’s EFF party advocates for reforms to increase land ownership among Black South Africans.

The controversy surrounding the chant has attracted attention from various groups. White supremacists recently protested outside the EFF headquarters. In August 2022, a court ruled that the song was not an issue of hate speech, but an appeal is pending. The DA plans to file a complaint with the UN Human Rights Council against Malema.

As the political landscape in South Africa heats up ahead of the 2024 national elections, the war of words between Malema and Musk highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding race, historical injustices, and freedom of expression in the country.
