Kilburn Street bridge repair will start in September

JRA will buy land in Noordwyk to address the safety concerns surrounding the narrow footpath that connects Sagewood and Noordwyk suburbs in Midrand.

Learners from Noordwyk Primary School and community members heavily use this footpath. But its current condition poses risks to their safety.

After contacting the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), they confirmed that they are aware of the situation and are actively working on purchasing a portion of privately owned land to construct a bridge for pedestrians.

Once the JRA finalises the land acquisition process, the JRA will proceed with the construction, prioritising the safety of learners and residents.

Although an exact timeframe for the project’s completion is yet to be determined, the necessary steps, including providing drawings and information to the Johannesburg Property Company, have been taken to initiate the land purchase process.

The project is currently in the preliminary design review stage, and construction will commence once the JRA receives the land ownership through the conclusion of the purchasing process.
