Johannesburg officials have issued a high alert for the entire city as inclement weather is predicted for the upcoming weekend. With the expected heavy rain and possible flooding, the officials are urging residents to take necessary precautions to avoid any harm or damage to their property as reported by Kaya 959 News.

According to the Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS), the city is expected to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, which may result in flooding of low-lying areas and possible power outages. The officials are working tirelessly to ensure all necessary measures are in place to mitigate the potential damage.

“The safety of our residents is our top priority,” said the EMS spokesperson, “We are closely monitoring the weather patterns and have deployed emergency response teams across the city to ensure that we are well prepared for any eventualities.”

In preparation for the expected weather conditions, the officials advise residents to stay indoors as much as possible, avoid driving on flooded roads, and secure any loose objects outside their homes that strong winds may blow away.

“We are calling on residents to be vigilant and take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this period,” the spokesperson added.
