Johannesburg faces severe water shortages as reservoirs run dangerously low

The residents of Johannesburg who depend on the Commando and Crown Garden water systems have been facing a severe water shortage, as reported by ENCA.

The problem has arisen due to infrastructure issues at Rand Water’s Vereeniging purification works. As a result, the taps have been dry for quite some time now, and there seems to be no immediate solution in sight.

Johannesburg Water has confirmed that the Hursthill reservoirs are almost empty, and the Crown Gardens reservoir is also critically low.

This has caused a significant inconvenience to the residents, who are struggling to meet their daily water needs. The situation is particularly worrisome as South Africa is already grappling with a water crisis, and the shortage in Johannesburg is only adding to the problem.

The authorities are now under immense pressure to find a solution and ensure that the residents get access to clean water as soon as possible.
