Joburg Water G20 pipeline maintenance in May

Published

on

Joburg residents are preparing for water cuts as Joburg Water conducts a 39-hour maintenance project on its G20 pipeline from 11 to 13 May. The maintenance project will affect Winchester Hills, Mondeor, and Glenanda, among other suburbs as reported by Eyewitness News.

Joburg Water has stated that it needs to complete unfinished maintenance, which requires a complete pipeline shutdown. Nolwazi Dhlamini from Joburg Water explains, there will be no water supply from 6 pm on May 11th to 9 am on May 13th.

The maintenance project’s objective is to connect the newly replaced section of the G20 pipeline to the existing pipeline, making sure that it operates smoothly and reduces the chance of future interruptions.

While the water utility is taking all necessary measures to minimize the impact of the water cuts, residents are urged to stock up on water and prepare for the inconvenience. Joburg Water has also set up water tankers in affected areas to provide residents with a temporary water supply.
