Joburg Water attributes water crisis to frequent power outages

Joburg Water is attributing the city’s water crisis to persistent power outages, with vandalism to ageing pipelines further complicating the situation. Robertsham residents have been without water for nearly two weeks, leading to frustration and even protests during a media briefing by Mayor Thapelo Amad in Braamfontein as reported by iAfrica.

According to Joburg Water’s Managing Director, Ntshavheni Mukwevho, pipeline vandalism has worsened the situation.

Mukwevho added that they had been discussing with their bulk supplier to resolve the problem.
