Inside Jada’s Revelations: The Silent Separation, Oscars Outburst, and Chris Rock

As reported by TimesLIVE, US actress Jada Pinkett-Smith has made a series of startling revelations during her promotional tour for her new memoir, “Worthy.”

“I think by the time we got to 2016, we were exhausted with trying … we both kind of still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she stated.

During an appearance on The Today Show, Pinkett-Smith disclosed that she and her husband, famed actor Will Smith, have led separate lives since 2016. This raises questions about the official marital status of the couple. Are they legally divorced?

“I made a promise that there would never be a reason for us to get a divorce, we will work though whatever and I just have not been able to break that promise … we live separately,” stated the actress.

In 2022, the duo found themselves at the center of a Hollywood controversy. During the Oscars ceremony, Will Smith confronted comedian Chris Rock with a slap after he made a jest about Pinkett-Smith’s shaved head, a result of her battle with alopecia.

People magazine shared Pinkett-Smith’s initial reaction, stating that she initially believed the slap was part of “a skit.”

“I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him’. It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I realised it wasn’t a skit,” as stated in the magazine.

In a further revelation, the 52-year-old actress mentioned she hasn’t had any communication with Chris Rock since the Oscars event. Intriguingly, she shared that Rock had expressed romantic interest in her amid circulating divorce rumors, all before the notable Oscars incident.
