According to Xolile Khumalo, the spokesperson for Joburg Emergency Management Services, there were no reported fatalities or injuries at the hotel. However, the establishment did experience a partial collapse of its structure.

“Everyone who was there had to be evacuated because the roof in the dining area collapsed, and for safety reasons, people had to be evacuated,” stated Khumalo. The incident underscores the intensity of the hailstorm, prompting emergency measures to ensure the safety of those present.
