Germiston Officers Secure First Runner-Up Position at Provincial Awards

Germiston police officers achieved first runner-up for the best detective group of the year at the Gauteng Provincial Excellence Awards. This accolade follows their recent recognition as the best detective and forensic team at the Ekurhuleni District Excellence Awards.

The A-team, as they call themselves, had previously won the medal for the best-performing detective group at the same competition the year before. Lieutenant Colonel Mark Rikhotso, the group commander, expressed the team’s excitement over the nomination and award, emphasising their motivation to set a standard for excellence and inspire other teams and junior officers.

Detective Sergeant Asanda Nxawe, the second commander, highlighted the team’s encouragement and emphasised their commitment to teamwork and support for each other. The A-team recently welcomed a new member, Constable Princess Manda.
