Gauteng residents are in for a cold weekend

Gauteng residents are in for a cold weekend as the South African Weather Service warns of a temperature drop starting today. According to Jacaranda FM, the cold snap is not limited to Gauteng. It will also grip other parts of the country, including the Northern Cape, North West, Free State, Eastern Cape, and Mpumalanga.

With the cold weather, there is also a possibility of higher load shedding stages, adding to the challenges the country is already facing with stage 4 load shedding since Wednesday. According to forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela, there is a 30% chance of rain throughout the day. But weather analysts expect the cold weather will continue over the weekend with reduced rainfall. However, the weather will likely pick up on Sunday, leading into Monday and the rest of the following week.

The weather service advises residents to prepare for the chilly temperatures and possible electricity disruptions.
