Gauteng Health warns of steam issues

Breakdowns in boilers cause steam supply problems at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and nearby facilities, says Gauteng Health spokesperson Motalatale Modiba as reported by Jacarandafm.

Two of the hospital’s coal-powered boilers are currently out of commission, with one undergoing repairs and the other collapsed. The department expects the third boiler to be functional soon.

Several healthcare facilities in the area are affected as they all rely on the same steam supply system, which is used for various purposes.
