Ramokgopa: Electricity Supply and Demand Gap Closing, Positive Outlook Ahead

A glimmer of light may be at the end of the rolling blackout tunnel. Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has delivered an optimistic update, stating that energy availability could increase to 70 per cent if units at Kusile and Medupi power stations return online. Furthermore, Ramokgopa emphasised that the gap between electricity supply and demand is closing, raising hopes for a consistent and reliable power supply, as per eNCA.

Ramokgopa has attributed this positive development to the efforts of South Africans, who have been actively reducing their electricity usage.
