Galito’s Verwoerdpark kicks off community programme with donation

In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Galito’s in Verwoerdpark donated R13 280 to the Alberton Golden Oldies Madeliefies Rugby team on September 18.

This generous contribution was made possible through the store’s newly launched community incentive programme.

People had to go to the store and buy flame-grilled chicken from Galito’s. The store then donated a portion of the revenue generated to the rugby team.

The Alberton Golden Oldies Madeliefies Rugby team was one of the few beneficiaries of this programme, receiving vital funds for their trip to the Annual National SANGORA Tournament in George.

This donation not only showcases Galito’s’ commitment to giving back but also highlights the power of community-driven initiatives.

De Wet Labuschagne, Galito’s Verwoerdpark’s franchisee explained that the programme aims to create a ‘one hand washes the other’ scenario, benefiting both the business and the community.

“With rising business costs, traditional sponsorship models are becoming increasingly challenging. This innovative programme offers a sustainable solution,” said Labuschagne.

According to Labuschagne, the programme is open to anyone with a network or following, provided they support underprivileged organisations or community groups. The store identifies beneficiaries through its franchisees, which drive social responsibility initiatives.

Labuschagne said: “Our franchisees often go above and beyond without seeking credit. We do it because we care.”
