His arrest finally occurred on January 9, when the police apprehended him in 9th Road, Rynfield. The SAPS Trio Tactic Unit members carried out this operation in collaboration with Anti-Hijacking and Policing SA and CJ Investigators, who acted on a tip-off regarding his location. Willemans was arrested at a flat believed to be associated with his girlfriend.
Willemans allegedly operated under various aliases while defrauding and stealing from victims. Additional theft and fraud cases against him are pending in Boksburg North, Welkom, the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and other regions.
His reported modus operandi involved targeting single and elderly women on dating sites. These criminal activities commenced approximately four months after his release on parole for theft in 2017.
The court has postponed the matter to September 14, possibly for plea negotiations to take place.
