Flight Suspensions
Several other airlines have suspended their flights into Israel due to the ongoing tensions. These airlines include Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Emirates, Iberia Express, LOT Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Aegean Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines, which have temporarily halted flights to Tel Aviv.
Additional Flights
Israel-based airlines like El Al, Israir, and Arkia have added more services to their flight schedules, starting from Tuesday. This move aims to bring reservists from various parts of the world back to Israel after the country’s announcement that it had called up 300,000 reservists.
Evacuation Operations
Flights evacuating foreigners continue to depart from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport. The Israeli airports authority predicts that 67,000 passengers will travel through Ben Gurion on Tuesday, which is just shy of the typical 80,000 passengers per day under normal circumstances.
Looking Ahead
In the coming days, Israel’s airlines may reduce their flight schedules as foreign crew members based in Israel leave for their own safety. Simultaneously, some Israeli crew members may be conscripted for military duties, potentially causing airline staff shortages.
