Fatal Crash Claims Life of 50-Year-Old Cyclist on Great North Road
A tragic incident occurred on November 9 as a 50-year-old cyclist lost his life in a collision on Great North Road.

The EMPD’s High-Speed Unit responded to the scene near the R21 bridge.
A VW Polo Vivo hatchback, driven by a 48-year-old male, was involved in the collision with the cyclist.
Despite immediate medical attention, the cyclist was declared dead at the scene.
The driver, fortunately, sustained no visible injuries but was treated for shock.
The circumstances of the crash remain unclear, and a case of culpable homicide has been registered for further investigation. The damaged bicycle and vehicle are in EMPD custody.
