Expect road closures in Johannesburg for Springbok vs. All Black clash

Johannesburg is gearing up for an exciting rugby event as the Springboks will take on the All Blacks at Emirates Airline Park. To facilitate this, expect road closures from 22:00 on August 30 until 22:00 on August 31, 2024.

Rea Vaya bus rapid transit system on match day

Rea Vaya, the City of Johannesburg’s Bus Rapid Transit, will maintain normal service on match day. Key transit features include:

1. Trunk (T1) Service from Thokoza Park Rea Vaya station to Emerald Airlink Park running from 05:00 to 19:00.
2. Complimentary (C1) Service from Dobsonville Integrated Public Transport Interchange to the corner of Voorhout & Princess Streets also operating from 05:00 to 19:00.
3. T1 and C1 services will drop off and pick up at Ellis Park East Rea Vaya Station and Voorhout & Princess Streets.
4. Expect a bus frequency of approximately 15 minutes during peak hours from 09:00 until the last bus departs at 19:00.
5. A R30.00 single trip card can be purchased at any Rea Vaya station, along with distance-based smart cards.
6. A representative will be available at the Venue Operations Centre for assistance during the event.
7. Dedicated lanes are designated for Rea Vaya transit use only, prohibiting other forms of public transport.
