Municipal Council to Vote on New Mayor Today

Today is an important day for the municipality of Ekurhuleni, which makes a final choice for a person to be a new mayor as a dismissed previous mayor vacated the position lately.

Ex-mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana’s decision to resign following a censure vote on March 28 poses a leadership gap that the council is now called upon to fill.

This morning, a council meeting commenced at 10:00 am in the OR Tambo Government Precinct at Germiston.

The meeting that was supposed to occur last week had to be rescheduled. This helped to keep the interest and prepare for today’s meeting.
