EFF Carnival

On Saturday, the EFF’s “carnival” in Johannesburg will lead to road closures and traffic disruptions. The event is expected to draw approximately 1,200 people, prompting the Joburg metro police department (JMPD) to advise motorists and the public to be aware of the situation in Alexandra and Sandton as reported by The Time Live.

The carnival procession will begin its journey from Alexandra Stadium at 10 am, heading towards Mushroom Park in Sandton, where the festivities will take place at 4 pm, as indicated by the JMPD.

To accommodate the event, specific road closures will be enforced at Pan Africa Mall in Alexandra from 5 am, affecting Watt Street and Second Avenue, Watt Street and Third Avenue, and Watt Street and Pretoria Main Road.

Additionally, Alexandra Stadium will experience road closures from 5 am to 10 am on 12th Avenue and Reverend Sam Buti Street.

The JMPD will deploy officers to monitor the march and affected routes, urging motorists to exercise patience while the carnival progresses. They are advised to consider alternative routes to avoid delays caused by the event.
