Nkosi’s inspiration for the centre had been brewing for over 13 years, driven by a deep commitment to empower learners from Grades 8 to 12. The centre’s offerings encompass tutoring in mathematics, science, and coding, as well as career guidance intricately woven into the STEM landscape.

While the centre caters to students who may not have performed optimally, it warmly welcomes those seeking additional lessons. Specialised exam preparation classes are available for matric students, and post-matric students can participate in upgrade classes to elevate their performance. Nkosi firmly believes that anyone can excel in mathematics and physics, and he dedicates himself to nurturing this belief in his students through extensive support and mentorship.

Nkosi’s dedication to education recently earned him the Outstanding Educational Influencer Award at the Global Teaching Awards in Dubai. His YouTube channel, boasting more than 160,000 subscribers, showcases innovative teaching approaches aimed at helping learners grasp the intricacies of mathematics and physical science.

In his educational philosophy, Nkosi emphasises that igniting a passion for mathematics and physical science begins with establishing a personal connection with each student. Acknowledging their potential and employing relatable teaching models are pivotal in the teaching process.

The Maths and Science Centre operates with an open heart and welcomes donations from individuals and corporations interested in sponsoring students facing financial constraints. Many students aspire to benefit from the centre’s resources but lack the means to do so. Nkosi envisions a community of supporters who can contribute financially by offering their time, sharing valuable advice, recounting their personal journeys, and imparting wisdom in the realm of STEM. Leadership and career guidance assistance are equally embraced, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
