The tragic loss of Siphamandla Peterson and Sibusiso Sibiya, who drowned at a camp in Centurion, has left mourners seeking answers as they laid the young drowning victims to rest. As per EWN, family and friends gathered at the Rabasotho Hall in Tembisa for the funeral service of the two pupils from Daveyton Skills School, whose lives were cut short during a discipline camp. The Sibiyas are dissatisfied with the Gauteng Department of Education for failing to provide enough support and communication in the wake of the tragedy.

The family spokesman, Thandanani Sibiya, complained about the school authorities’ absence of an information and communication line.
Despite a visit from Education MEC Matome Chiloane last week, the family claims to have received little to no updates on the circumstances surrounding the drowning incident. “We were failed from day one, especially about everything,” said Thandanani Sibiya, reflecting on the family’s ordeal. “We were not given the information on time, and even now, we still don’t have answers.”
