Dr. Ramokgopa Minister of Electricity Faces Criticism Again
Several months ago, during his visit to Kusile Power Station, Minister of Electricity Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, asserted that the issues plaguing Eskom were primarily technical in nature, dismissing the notion of corruption as reported by iReport South Africa. He believed that the solution to these problems could be found by focusing on the workforce.

However, the tide has turned, and Minister Ramokgopa is now aligning himself with the views expressed by former Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter.
Minister Ramokgopa said organised crime, specifically the notorious KwaZulu-Natal construction mafia, has infiltrated Eskom’s procurement division. Insiders and outsiders are collaborating to defraud the company, revealing a disturbing nexus of corruption.
Minister Ramokgopa finds himself under scrutiny in light of this revelation, as he had initially expressed confidence that corruption did not lie at the heart of Eskom’s challenges. The shift in his stance has raised eyebrows and invited questions from the public and critics alike.
