Cycling enthusiasts convened on September 29 for the anticipated Parys Out Ride, expertly coordinated by Bike Barn, a prominent local bicycle store.

The event attracted a considerable number of participants, with cyclists of various skill levels embarking on a memorable journey through picturesque landscapes from Alberton to Parys.

The Parys Out Ride featured two challenging routes, namely 120km and 60km, catering to cyclists of all capabilities, from experienced athletes to recreational riders.

As outlined by Dion Perry of Bike Barn, the 120km route was tailored for experienced cyclists seeking an endurance challenge, while the 60km route offered a shorter but equally scenic option for those preferring a more moderate pace.

Both routes provided stunning views and diverse terrain, ensuring a gratifying experience for all participants.

To accommodate different cycling styles, the event was structured into three distinct groups:

  • Fast group: Geared towards cyclists aiming to test their limits and maintain a high-speed pace.
  • Medium group: Intended for individuals seeking a balance between endurance and enjoyment.
  • Slow group: Ideal for cyclists looking to leisurely appreciate the scenery and ride at a relaxed pace.

Each group received dedicated support from backup vehicles, enabling riders to concentrate on their performance and enjoyment.

Bike Barn ensured that participants’ requirements were addressed with three strategically located watering and refueling stations.

“The Parys Out Ride transcended being solely a cycling event; it evolved into a celebration of camaraderie, scenic splendor, and a shared love for the sport,” remarked Perry.

Riders from diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels united, crafting an unforgettable collective experience.

Bike Barn expressed appreciation to their sponsors Six Red Marbles, Omnico, and Rush Sports for their invaluable assistance.
