City of Ekurhuleni Conducts Revenue Enhancement Blitz

The City of Ekurhuleni initiated a revenue enhancement blitz targeting industrial customers, including factories and large companies, in Alrode, Boksburg, and Thokoza. The campaign aimed to address outstanding debt from September 20 to 26.

During the blitz, officials visited a total of 12 properties with outstanding amounts totaling approximately R1.4 million. One company promptly settled R205,000 on the spot and committed to clearing its remaining debt.

Activities during the blitz encompassed identifying and disconnecting unauthorized power connections. Authorities successfully disconnected an illegal bulk electricity supply to an informal settlement and removed water meters from businesses with overdue accounts.

The city administration encourages residents and businesses with outstanding balances to establish payment arrangements to prevent service disconnections.

The revenue enhancement blitz yielded positive results by reducing customer debt, contributing to the city’s financial stability and enhancing service provision.
