In an alarming incident, a group of robbers executed a CIT robbery on the N12, south of Johannesburg, leaving authorities on high alert as they search for the perpetrators.

According to eNCA, the robbery unfolded when the criminals intercepted a cash-in-transit van along the N12 near Diepkloof, Soweto. The attack resulted in the explosion of the CIT vehicle. The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. See the video below:

Reports emerged that nearby residents rushed toward the scene after the incident, attempting to secure money.

Law enforcement authorities swiftly closed off the affected stretch of the N12, particularly towards Southgate Mall.

The robbers reportedly utilised four luxury vehicles as part of their operation, further adding to the case’s complexity.

As the search intensifies, authorities are working to apprehend those responsible for this robbery.
