OR Tambo Cellphone Theft Suspect Apprehended

A suspect has been arrested for cell phone theft at OR Tambo International Airport after Alderman Benjamin Robinson reported his phone, valued at R11,000, was pickpocketed in the airport terminals. Robinson informed EMPD officers that his daughter was tracking the stolen cellphone from her device.

The officers, following the direction indicated by the tracking, searched a Harambee Bus and found the stolen cell phone under one of the seats. The bus driver identified a 30-year-old male sitting in that seat, who Robinson recognised. Police placed him under arrest. The suspect will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate Court to face theft charges.
