Tshwane Fuel Shortage Ends, Buses Back in Service!

Buses have resumed service after a fuel shortage

The City of Tshwane has announced that its buses have resumed service after a fuel shortage caused the metro to reduce operations. On Wednesday, some of the metro’s buses were parked due to dwindling diesel stocks at several bus depots, as reported by Eyewitness News.

However, the City of Tshwane has confirmed that fuel has arrived at the bus depots, so that nothing will impact operations. Initially, the city stated that it would continue to run reduced operations until further notice.

In a statement, City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo stated that “with this latest and positive development, Tshwane Bus Service will now run a full operation that will be on schedule.” It is not the first time that the city has experienced fuel shortages, as similar incidents occurred in September of last year and January of this year.
