Berry Jive makes waves with latest remix
Pretoria’s hip hop scene is buzzing with excitement as Tshegofatso “Berry Jive” Mamadinya of Mabopane unveils the much-anticipated music video of his latest “Redman Remix”.
Berry Jive, hailing from the township of Mabopane in Block UU, has made a name for himself with his sound and compelling style.
At just 22 years old, Berry Jive has already made substantial waves in the hip-hop scene, captivating audiences with his Spitori trap rap.
According to Mamadinya, his journey into music began as a personal outlet to express his experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
He said though his music career began in 2021, he provides his listeners with an authentic glimpse into his life through his music, combining lyrical prowess with a fresh, innovative sound.
His recent single, “RedMan”, has garnered considerable attention across social media platforms.
“There’s a young man from my hood called RedMan and this song is dedicated to him because he once came to me and told me that he’s one of my biggest fans.
“I don’t want him to go through what I went through, so this song is a motivation to him to never give up and work as twice [as hard] as me to achieve what he wants,” said Mamadinya.
He said fans have praised the track for its originality and his ability to blend Spitori seamlessly with contemporary trap elements.
The remix features dynamic rapper and record producer, 25k.
Known for his mix of English and Spitori, 25K’s collaboration adds an extra layer to the remix, making it a standout hit.
“Collaborating with 25K is a dream come true for me because he was one of the artists I grew up listening to,” said Berry Jive.
“My uncle was the one who introduced me to hip hop because he used to like this genre more than anything else,” he said.
The music video premiered exclusively on Channel O.
Berry Jive said the video is not just a visual accompaniment to the song but a showcase of his creative flair and personal style.
“The music video captures the essence of my life and music and provides a vivid portrayal of experiences and the environments that have shaped me.”
He said fans can enjoy the energetic beats and insightful lyrics of his single.
Berry Jive reaffirmed to fans that with each new single, his place in the hip hop industry is solidified.
