Barry Steenkamp, Aged 80, Passes Away

Barry Steenkamp died at 80 years old. The father of the late model Reeva Steenkamp peacefully passed away in his sleep. As per EWN, this news comes as a deep sorrow for the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation. Barry experienced profound grief and overwhelming sadness over losing his daughter in his final days.

Tania Koen, CEO of the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation, shared with Eyewitness News that Barry grappled with the heartbreaking loss of his daughter, Reeva, until his last moments. His devotion to Reeva’s memory was unwavering.

The foundation expressed its heartfelt condolences, describing Barry as a blessing to many, and will cherish his memory with deep love and fondness.

Barry, along with his wife, June Steenkamp, had always been present during the highly publicised murder trial of Reeva. Oscar Pistorius murdered her on Valentine’s Day in 2013. Pistorius is serving a 13-year and six-month prison sentence for culpable homicide.

Tania Koen noted that friends and family will remember Barry as a gentle and loving man. He is survived by his wife, June, and two children, Simone and Adam.
