Assist Police in Baby's Edenvale Death Case

The Edenvale South African Police Service (SAPS) is contacting the community for assistance in gathering more details about an incident that occurred on August 26th. A fully formed child’s body was discovered, placed in a black bag, and left near an open drain at the intersection of Twelfth Avenue and De We Street.

The discovery was made by an alert community member who promptly reported it to the authorities. According to Warrant Officer Frans Madibana of Edenvale’s detective services, there is reason to suspect that the child may have been alive before passing away on the pavement.

A witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed to have seen two women depositing the plastic bag at the site where the infant’s body was found. Additionally, a block of flats nearby suggests that someone in the vicinity may have observed something relevant to this case.

Edenvale SAPS is urging anyone with information or knowledge about a pregnant woman who is no longer to come forward and provide assistance. You can contact Warrant Officer Madibana at 083 475 3840 to report any information related to this incident.
