ANC’s Dada Morero elected as the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg
Dada Morero has been elected as the new executive mayor for the City of Johannesburg on August 16.
This follows Al Jama-ah’s Kabelo Gwamanda’s resignation on August 13.

Morero was elected and sworn in at the 30th extra-ordinary council meeting of the City of Johannesburg, at the Constance Bapela Council Chamber, Metropolitan Centre in Braamfontein.

Morero is the City’s Finance MMC and is also Joburg ANC regional chairperson. In 2022, he was elected as mayor but only served 25 days before he was removed.
