New Survey Predicts ANC Support in Gauteng Could Drop to 37% in 2024
The African National Congress may face stiff competition from the Multi-party Charter, as a recently conducted survey by the Brenthurst Group has raised the possibility that ANC support in Gauteng could drop.
As per EWN, the survey sampled 1,500 voters in September and October. It shows a potential ANC vote decline to 37% in 2024. In KwaZulu-Natal, it’s even worse, with an estimated 32%.

Multiple polls emphasise high voter turnout as beneficial for the ruling party. If voting occurred tomorrow, the ANC’s share would be 37% in Gauteng and 32% in KZN.
Overall, ANC support dropped from 48% to 41% since November. Most respondents lacked awareness of the Multi-party Charter for South Africa.
Among the informed, many prefer John Steenhuisen as the charter’s DA presidential candidate. Cyril Ramaphosa’s popularity slipped from 48% to 42%. The EFF gained support, rising from 11% to 17%.
