ANC has no problem asking Ramaphosa to step aside

ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula denied claims of a leadership crisis within the party. According to Jacaranda FM, he asserted the ANC has no problem asking Ramaphosa to step aside if necessary.

Mbalula’s remarks come after concerns raised by former president Thabo Mbeki in a letter to the ANC, addressing issues such as the handling of Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala saga and former president Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla scandal.

Speaking at a provincial conference in Cape Town, Mbalula emphasized that the party has established rules and checks and balances to make decisions regarding the president. If accountability demands it, Ramaphosa will step aside without hesitation.

According to Mbalula, there is no crisis of leadership within the ANC.
