Alex Shakoane’s death mourned by Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns mourns the loss of Alex Shakoane, a longtime communications manager and dedicated club supporter, who passed away on Sunday at 67 years of age.

According to a statement from Sundowns, Shakoane was a passionate fan of the team and of soccer in Mamelodi, Tshwane, and across South Africa as reported by the SABC News.

Tlhopie Motsepe, Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, expressed his condolences, saying that Shakoane’s life was centred around the club and that his unique contributions and larger-than-life personality would be greatly missed.

The club’s sympathies are with Shakoane’s family and friends, and details of memorial and funeral services will be shared in due course.
