Alberton SAPS Captain Manare Ramotshela retires after 40 years of service

Captain Manare ‘Rams’ Ramotshela has officially retired from the South African Police Service (SAPS) after a notable 40-year career marked by steadfast dedication and a strong sense of community involvement.

Commencing his service in 1984, Ramotshela diligently patrolled various neighborhoods in the region, embodying the principles of community policing.

Colleagues and residents fondly remember him as a beacon of positivity, consistently going the extra mile to ensure the safety and welfare of the community.

His approachable demeanor made him a familiar and reassuring presence, with many sharing heartfelt stories of how he positively influenced their lives.

Constable Nompumelelo Nhlapo of Alberton SAPS described Ramotshela not just as a police officer, but as a friend to all. Nhlapo remarked on his laughter, kindness, and willingness to listen to people’s concerns, highlighting the significant impact he had on those around him.

As Ramotshela prepared to bid farewell to the force, emotions ran high at the local SAPS station.

Station commander Colonel Olven Letloenyane expressed profound appreciation for Ramotshela’s decades of service, acknowledging him as an integral part of their team. Letloenyane praised Ramotshela’s dedication to policing and community engagement as exemplary.
