The corruption case involving former Bosasa Chief Operations Officer Angelo Agrizzi was moved to the Pretoria High Court on February 29, 2024. He is accused of compensating former Member of Parliament Vincent Smith to shield Bosasa from accountability. These gratifications allegedly include security upgrades to Smith’s home and cash payments through his business.

The former COO’s arrest in October 2020 stemmed from accusations of offering Smith gratification exceeding R800,000. He faces this charge alone as the case was separated from co-accused Vincent Smith in July 2021. Furthermore, Agrizzi is involved in two cases initiated by the Investigating Directorate.

Additionally, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) stated that Agrizzi’s mental assessment report from Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital will be submitted to the court on February 29, 2024, regarding his separate R1.8 billion Bosasa and Department of Correctional Services case.
