Tshwane Mayor Dr. Nasiphi Moya has marked her first 100 days in office with a positive assessment, claiming significant improvements in the city’s administration under her leadership. Moya, who took over as mayor in October 2024 from the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Cilliers Brink, outlined her focus on financial stability, infrastructure development, and service delivery improvements for the city.

In a Statement, ActionSA’s Herman Mashaba praised Moya’s efforts, which have already led to notable successes across key areas. Moya’s administration has focused on six major priorities, and these efforts are beginning to show positive results.

Among the highlights are the repair of 21,000 streetlights, the restoration of 291 high-mast lights, a 99% reduction in the pothole backlog, and the clearing of 747 illegal dumping sites.

ActionSA also applauded the restoration of clean water to Hammanskraal, a major step in improving essential services for the community. The city has made commendable progress in fiscal management, with monthly financial reserves now at R368 million and a 90% achievement in improving revenue collection through more accurate billing.

Demonstrating ActionSA’s commitment to restoring law and order, Moya’s administration has increased law enforcement operations, targeting criminal activity that previous administrations allowed to flourish. Over 1,000 non-compliant businesses have been shut down, and more than 18 illegal businesses were dismantled. Additionally, illegal immigrants have been apprehended and handed over to authorities.

Mashaba also highlighted the importance of the coalition with the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in improving governance and service delivery. He emphasized that ActionSA is dedicated to working with its partners to ensure continued good governance and to provide residents with a capital city that is functional, safe, and prosperous.

“We are committed to continuing our work with our coalition partners to build a better Tshwane, one that all residents can be proud of,” Mashaba concluded.
