“I Run the Country and the World”: Trump Reflects on First 100 Days of Second Term

President Donald Trump has boldly declared that he is not only running the United States but also the world—and enjoying it—as he reflected on the first 100 days of his second term in office.
In a candid interview with The Atlantic, Trump said his current term feels dramatically different from his first. He described his initial presidency as a time of survival, bogged down by what he called “crooked guys.” Now, however, he says things are different.
“The first time, I had two things to do—run the country and survive; I had all these crooked guys,” Trump said. “And the second time, I run the country and the world.”
Despite the weight of his responsibilities, Trump insisted that he’s been enjoying his return to the White House, even saying he’s “having a lot of fun” while tackling what he called “serious stuff.”
“A Twinkle in His Eye”
According to The Atlantic, sources close to the administration have observed a lighter, more energized Trump, describing him as someone who carries himself with “a twinkle in his eye.” Asked about this, Trump agreed.
“I’m having a lot of fun, considering what I do,” he said. “You know, what I do is such serious stuff.”
This blend of confidence and levity paints a picture of a president who feels more at ease in his role during his second term.
Hints at a Third Term?
When pressed about his controversial remarks hinting at a possible third presidential run—which is prohibited by U.S. law—Trump did not offer a clear denial, instead leaning into the speculation that has surrounded his presidency since his re-election.
While the U.S. Constitution bars any president from serving more than two terms, Trump’s repeated comments have kept both critics and supporters wondering whether he’s serious or simply stirring the pot.
A Polarizing but Confident Leader
As his second term unfolds, Trump continues to captivate public attention, not just for his policies but for his unapologetically bold style. Whether leading the country or claiming to run the world, Trump’s narrative remains undeniably his own—full of bravado, controversy, and conviction.
