Standard Bank spokesperson Ross Linstrom explained, “We encountered a slight delay in processing salary transactions.” He confirmed that the bank completed all scheduled payments just after 6 AM. Furthermore, he apologized for any inconvenience this situation caused.

In response to the delays, many companies banking with Standard Bank quickly informed their employees. Some individuals reported that their salaries did not reflect in their accounts until after 7 AM. Consequently, frustration grew on social media, where customers shared their experiences.

Siphokazi Malinga, a concerned customer, voiced her dissatisfaction on Twitter. She stated, “What is happening with Standard Bank? People haven’t received their salaries, including me. Being a Standard Bank customer is starting to feel risky.”
