Sassa Announces March 2025 Grant Payment Dates, Extends Gold Card Swap Deadline
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the payment schedule for March 2025 social grants, allowing beneficiaries to plan their finances effectively. To streamline the distribution process and minimize overcrowding, payments will be disbursed in phases.
March 2025 Payment Schedule:
- Tuesday, March 4, 2025: Older Persons Grants, including all linked grants.
- Wednesday, March 5, 2025: Disability Grants, including all linked grants.
- Thursday, March 6, 2025: All Other Grants, including Child Support, Foster Care, and Care Dependency Grants.
Sassa emphasized that beneficiaries are not required to withdraw their funds on the first payment day. Grant money remains accessible throughout the month at ATMs, retailers, and Postbank branches.
Sassa Gold Card Swap Deadline Extended:
Sassa and Postbank have also extended the deadline for beneficiaries to switch from the old gold Sassa cards to the new Postbank black cards. The new deadline is now March 20, 2025, providing additional time for the transition.
Beneficiaries can locate their nearest Postbank card replacement site by dialing 120355# on their mobile phones.
