Police Discover R3.6 Million in Car Linked to Drug Labs in Mpumalanga

In a significant development, R3.6 million in cash was discovered hidden in a vehicle during police raids on illegal drug laboratories in Mpumalanga. The discovery was revealed by Police Minister Senzo Mchunu during his visit to Standerton over the weekend, following a series of raids that took place last week.

The operation was triggered by a tip-off about suspicious activity in the area, leading authorities to target several clandestine laboratories. According to Mchunu, the raids led to the arrest of nine suspects, with further investigations uncovering multiple drug labs linked to the operation.

During the raids, which targeted a third drug facility, law enforcement officials recovered large quantities of chemicals, powder, and equipment, including machinery and sacks.
Mchunu confirmed that all three locations were identified as crime scenes. This crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat the rising drug trade in the province.
