A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a senior manager in the Infrastructure department at Mangaung Metro Municipality was shot and killed while leaving work in Mangaung, Free State.
Incident Details
According to South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Captain Lorraine Earle, the victim was driving out of the parking lot just before 4 PM when he was attacked. An unknown shooter approached the vehicle and fired shots at the driver’s side.
Scene of the Incident
Police found four empty cartridges next to the vehicle, indicating the severity of the attack. The 48-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while his colleague, who was in the car with him, escaped unharmed but required treatment for shock.
