Five Drug Dealers Sentenced in Limpopo for Drug and Immigration Offences

Five men have been convicted and sentenced by the Musina Regional Court in Limpopo for drug-related offences and violations of South Africa’s Immigration Act. The case was investigated by the Hawks’ serious organised crime unit, following reports of illicit drug activities in the area.
According to Hawks provincial spokesperson Warrant Officer Lethunya Mmuroa, the investigation began in 2021 after authorities received a tip-off about individuals involved in drug dealing around Musina.
Detectives managed to identify the suspects and their operational addresses, leading to a take-down operation on November 11, 2021. The arrests were carried out by the Musina-based Hawks unit in collaboration with the Thohoyandou-based Tactical Response Team (TRT).
The Hawks’ investigation confirmed that the accused were dealing in crystal meth. The men remained in custody from the time of their arrest until their conviction.
