Kazoku Karate Raises Breast Cancer Awareness with Fundraising and Pink Belts

Kazoku Karate, based in Bryanston, is making a positive impact in the community by raising awareness about breast cancer. The dojo recently launched an initiative to promote breast health, encouraging members to join a global effort to educate others about early detection and prevention.

Throughout the month, all participants wore pink belts during training sessions as a visual symbol of their commitment to the cause. This simple act helped to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness while fostering unity within the dojo.

Jo da Fonseca, the instructor at Kazoku Karate, emphasized the significance of the pink belts. “The pink belts symbolize our dedication to supporting breast cancer awareness,” he explained. “We partnered with the Breast Health Foundation (BHF) to provide valuable resources and information about breast health, which can make a real difference in the lives of those affected.”

Kazoku Karate’s members embraced the campaign wholeheartedly, reaching out to friends, family, and colleagues to spread the word. The dojo’s collaboration with the Breast Health Foundation helped raise over R3,000, which will support BHF’s educational programs.

This inspiring initiative highlights how local organizations, like Kazoku Karate, can come together for a meaningful cause, using their platforms to raise awareness and make a tangible difference in the fight against breast cancer.
