EFF Slams Trump’s Executive Order on Afrikaners, Calls for Revoking Citizenship

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have strongly condemned US President Donald Trump’s recent executive order, which has sent shockwaves globally. The EFF asserts that any Afrikaner who accepts the offer of resettlement should have their South African citizenship revoked.
In a statement, the party criticized Trump’s decision to halt foreign aid to South Africa while offering humanitarian relief to Afrikaners via the US Refugee Admissions Program. The EFF described the executive order as illogical, especially given that Trump had previously signed another order on February 4, freezing refugee admissions and cutting funding for resettlement programs.
EFF Blasts Trump’s Motives and Misinformation
According to the EFF, Trump’s executive order, which cites South Africa’s alleged discriminatory and race-based laws against Afrikaners, ignores the true reason behind the US administration’s actions. The party claims that Trump’s real motive lies in South Africa’s stance against Israel, particularly its actions at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Israel’s treatment of Palestinians.
“The real reason the USA is retaliating against South Africa is because of its support for the Palestinian people and its condemnation of Israel’s genocide, not the misinformation regarding land confiscation or ill-treatment of Afrikaners,” the EFF said.
The party accused the US of practicing retribution at the behest of Apartheid Israel, which the EFF claims has been responsible for the deaths of over 100,000 Palestinians and the destruction of Gaza’s schools, hospitals, and religious sites.
EFF Calls for Expulsion of Israeli Embassy and Stronger BRICS Ties
The EFF also denounced the use of US foreign aid as an instrument of political manipulation, arguing that it undermines South Africa’s economic and political sovereignty. The party has called for South Africa to expel the Israeli Embassy and strengthen ties with Russia, China, and other BRICS nations to safeguard against unnecessary conflicts with the US and figures like Trump.
“The EFF calls for the immediate implementation of the resolution passed by the 6th National Assembly to expel the Israeli Embassy and sever all diplomatic and economic ties with Israel,” the statement reads.
Revocation of Citizenship for Those Who Accept Trump’s Offer
Furthermore, the EFF has demanded that South Africa revoke the citizenship of any individual who accepts the resettlement offer from the US under this executive order. “South Africa must revoke the citizenship of any individual who seeks refugee status in the USA based on this executive order. By doing so, they are declaring that South Africa’s laws, which aim to promote equality and social cohesion, do not align with their values. No one is being persecuted in South Africa, and fleeing to the USA under this pretense should result in the immediate revocation of citizenship,” the EFF concluded.
