Applications Open for Basic Education Employment Initiative Phase V – 200,000 Positions

The Department of Basic Education has officially opened applications for the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) – Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) Phase V, aimed at providing 200,000 unemployed youth with positions in public schools across South Africa.
This initiative, targeting youth aged between 18 and 34, offers roles as education assistants and general school assistants to help support educators and enhance learning outcomes in public schools. With a focus on improving reading and literacy in the foundation and intermediate phases, Phase V will see a larger portion of the opportunities allocated to reading champions.

Stipend: Successful candidates will earn R4,000 per month (minus a small UIF contribution) along with R30 for data.

Interviews: Conducted between May 19 and May 31.
