Over 1.2 million young people in Gauteng are seeking employment opportunities through the Nasi Ispani campaign launched by the provincial government.

While there are only 8,000 available positions, the government, in collaboration with the private sector, is committed to placing each applicant as reported by Eyewitness News.

The recruitment program, initiated in June, is nearing its deadline at midnight on Friday.

To support those who may not secure employment, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced that training programs will be provided to enhance their skills.

Lesufi emphasised that the government aims to ensure that no applicant receives a regret letter. Instead, they will assess applicants’ skills and provide them with the necessary training. In some cases, bursaries for university studies may also be offered.

Through these initiatives, the Gauteng government is dedicated to addressing youth unemployment and providing opportunities for skill development and education.
