Notably, a South African contender has not secured victory in the SPAR Grand Prix since international athletes were allowed to participate in 2019.

The SPAR Women’s Challenge drew approximately 10,000 runners to Mark’s Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, with participants opting for either the 5km or 10km road race challenge. The event exuded a festive ambiance, with cheers and exuberance resonating throughout the roads of Emmarentia.

The day was characterized by vibrant outfits and lively spirits, as participants embraced the beautiful spring morning in the City of Gold with enthusiasm.
