NAA: A bunch of winners!

At least 50 athletes qualified and were selected to represent Mpumalanga in the South African Cross Country Championships, which will take place at the Vaal University of Technology on September 7.

Gold medallists: Mabekezeli Magagula, Pule Mabaso, Ndumiso Maseko, Motlatsi Sesing, and Nkosinathi Skosana.

Silver medallists: Gugulethu Thanjekwayo, Hlelolwenkosi Mokone, Keneilwe Sesing, Khethiwe Mlangeni, Moses Mahlangu, Scelo Mncwango, and Tsepo Sibande.

Bronze medallists: Sibusiso Manganye, Zamani Mosotho, Emmanuel Mabaso, Gift Habile, and Moses Mahlangu.

Top five finishers: Africa Sesing, Gift Senamela, Sandile Dlangamandla, Amo Kgaile, Siphamandla Maseko, Tebogo Mofete, Siphesihle Mabunda, and Ntando Maseko.

Top 10 finishers: Mondli Matshiana, Banele Ntuli, Mpendulo Simelane, Eddie Shabangu, Sakhile Mnisi, Sphesihle Msimango, Zakhele Mathebula, Siyabonga Mdlalose, Thembi Mabaso, Minenhle Nkonde, Doctor Madalane, Banele Mpila, and Sibusiso Mabaso. Emmanuel Mabaso, the chairperson of the academy, said the organisation is facing challenges sourcing funds to pay for the 50 athletes representing the province.

“It’s been quite a financially challenging year with the Interprovincial, Mpumalanga Championship, and South African Championships within a short space of time; however, it has been rewarding in terms of performance. Our aim is to raise R50 000 and send a strong team to the North West.”
